Great Route of the Aveiro Lagoon

Encompassing a group of eleven municipalities – Águeda, Albergaria-a-Velha, Anadia, Aveiro, Estarreja, Ílhavo, Murtosa, Oliveira do Bairro, Ovar, Sever do Vouga and Vagos – the territory of the Intermunicipal Community of the Aveiro Region presents different and unique characteristics, in comparison with other regions of the country.

However, there is one formation that, due to its size and geomorphological differences from the rest of the national territory, strongly marks the entire region: the Ria de Aveiro.

Magic Mountains

The Magic Mountains® encompass the Freita, Arada and Arestal mountain ranges, belonging to the Gralheira massif, and the Montemuro mountain range, located within the massif of the same name.
A territory of exceptional natural value, certified as a sustainable tourism destination since November 2013, it encompasses four Natura 2000 network sites and a UNESCO geopark, characterized by offering a responsible and sustainable tourism model focused on ecotourism, geotourism, and active tourism.

Sever do Vouga Route

Pack your bags and head to Sever do Vouga in the Aveiro district, in the central region of the country, taking advantage of the road connections via the A1, A25, A17 and IC2 highways and the proximity to the Northern railway line.

Just a stone's throw from the cities of Aveiro and Viseu, and an hour from Coimbra and Porto, nestled among mountains and rivers, you'll find a municipality blessed by nature.

Let yourself be captivated by the unique features and contrasts of this territory, the gateway to the Aveiro Lagoon and the Magic Mountains.
